Chic Eats and Sweet Treats: My Day at Toastique
It has been far too long since my last brunch date, but today was the day! This morning, at the bright and early hour of 7 AM, I sprang out of bed, bubbling with excitement to check out the newly opened Toastique with my niece!
Honestly, I had no clue what this place was until my best friend casually mentioned it opened near his workplace. The moment I heard “gourmet toasts,” I knew I had to dive in and experience it for myself.

Let me tell you—Toastique is probably one of the bougiest places I’ve visited so far! With a menu featuring gourmet toasts, acai bowls, artisanal coffee, espressos, and intricate cold-pressed juices, this spot promises fresh, modern dining at its finest.
When I mentioned my plans to my niece, she was immediately intrigued by their collagen lattes. We were both intrigued by their beautifully crafted gourmet toasts, and I could hardly wait to indulge.
Arriving in Wayzata by 8 AM, the day was already off to a stunning start. The sun was shining brightly, the fresh bay air was invigorating, and the warm breeze felt like a gentle hug as we eagerly walked into Toastique.
The atmosphere was clean and chic—definitely feeling upscale yet still affordable. Even though the place had only been open for an hour, it was buzzing with energy. The sound of blenders whirring in the back and staff chatting about the menu created a lively ambiance. We were greeted warmly as we approached the cashier to place our orders.

We decided to sample a few items from the menu: gourmet toasts, an acai bowl, a collagen drink, and a couple of wellness shots.
I must admit, I was a bit unsure about what to expect. Would it be worth the price, or just another overhyped brunch spot? I can confidently say that for some dishes, it was absolutely worth every penny—while others left a bit to be desired.
Let’s dive in, shall we?
First up were the toasts. Now, I’ve seen the photos online, and I wasn’t expecting the actual presentation to match. But when they arrived, I was blown away! The plating was even better than the photos.

The 3 Cheese Italian was dressed arugula atop a generous amount of prosciutto on jalapeño cheddar toast, all smothered in melted Swiss and fontina cheeses, with a spread of roasted garlic onion jam. I expected a strong cheesy and savory explosion, but the slight sweetness from the arugula balanced everything out beautifully. Every ingredient played its part perfectly. If there had been another half of that toast, I would have happily devoured it as a prosciutto sandwich. A solid 4 out of 5 peaches for me—I can see myself coming back for this one!
Next up was the Tuscan Tuna Toast. Let me tell you, the photo online doesn’t do it justice. I was pleasantly surprised by the generous serving of tuna, and if you didn’t know, I’m a tuna lover!
While it may not have the dazzling colors of the 3 Cheese Italian, the rustico sourdough was lovingly slathered with a mound of tuna dressed with sundried tomatoes, capers, scallions, and herb aioli, all bathed in a balsamic glaze, accompanied by slices of tomato, bibb lettuce, kalamata olives, and a lemon twist.

I braced for a strong tuna flavor, but instead, I was greeted by a delightful sweet-tangy taste, complemented by the fresh crunch of tomatoes and the velvety tuna. It was so good that I found myself devouring it without hesitation. This one gets a rare 5 out of 5 peaches from me! And you know I don’t hand those out lightly.
Then came the acai bowl and the collagen latte.
The matcha iced collagen latte was made with almond milk and a touch of honey (per our request). Honestly, it was just a matcha iced latte. Did I taste any collagen? Not really. Do I even know what collagen is supposed to taste like? Not a clue!
Even with the honey, it wasn’t overly sweet, and the matcha flavor was somewhat subdued—not quite enough for my taste. It was a nice sip, but I probably won’t order it again next time, especially with so many other tempting options on the menu.

Now, onto the star of the show—the OG Acai Bowl! With a blend of açai, strawberry, blueberry, banana, and cold-pressed apple juice, topped with even more strawberries, blueberries, bananas, granola, cacao nibs, and a drizzle of honey, it was a sight to behold. I had to make room for it because I ended up devouring my entire toast!
It looked so inviting, shimmering as I enjoyed each bite. I loved everything except for the cacao nibs. Sure, they’re healthy, but in my opinion, they add no flavor and are tough to chew! Am I alone in this?
Despite that, I still relished every bit. I couldn’t finish the whole bowl, though—I was stuffed from that Tuscan Toast! But for just $13, it was a generous serving.
We sampled only three items from the menu, but each was a hearty serving, leaving us wondering if we could finish it all.

Before we left, we decided to try some wellness shots. I was told to just chug them down like regular shots, and we bravely gave it a go.
My niece opted for the Vita-C Punch Shot, a zesty concoction of lemon, lime, orange, and cayenne pepper—definitely the ultimate Vitamin C boost!
I decided on the Immunity+ Shot, a blend of turmeric, ginger, lemon, and black pepper, all known for their immune-boosting properties.

I wish I could say we ended our Toastique experience on a high note, but let’s just say those shots were quite the surprise!
The Vita-C Punch Shot? WAAAAAAY too sour. I barely let a drop touch my tongue before my lips puckered and my eyes squinted shut. I was hoping for a hint of sweetness, but that was clearly not an option. Not sure how my niece managed to handle it, but I was just grateful I didn’t pick that one!
The Immunity+ Shot fared a bit better, but it still had a sour kick from the lemon. The strong turmeric and ginger flavors, alongside the black pepper, felt like a healthy punch to the gut—literally! I didn’t particularly enjoy it, but I chugged it down anyway.
In the end, I chose to think of the wellness shots as a cleanse for all the junk food I’d indulged in lately. Will these shots make you immortal? Probably not. But they’ll certainly make for some memorable moments!

As we wrapped up our delightful brunch at Toastique, it was clear this place was a feast for both the eyes and the palate. The vibrant atmosphere and the artistic presentation of each dish added to the experience. While some dishes exceeded my expectations, others left a little to be desired—especially the wellness shots, serving as a reminder that not every culinary adventure is perfect.
Overall, my niece and I left with full stomachs and happy hearts, cherishing the beautiful morning we shared. Whether you’re seeking a trendy brunch spot or a place to indulge in gourmet toasts, Toastique definitely has something to offer. I can’t wait to return and discover more hidden gems on their menu!
So, if you find yourself in Wayzata craving a unique brunch experience, I highly recommend giving Toastique a try. Just be prepared for a delightful journey of flavors—oh, and maybe skip the wellness shots next time! Cheers to many more brunch dates to come!
